Endrick’s January Loan Interest Grows as Arsenal Weighs Other Forward Targets

Newcastle, Aston Villa and Tottenham are showing concrete interest in Endrick, while Arsenal’s focus appears to be elsewhere.

Endrick’s January Loan Interest Grows as Arsenal Weighs Other Forward Targets

Endrick’s lack of minutes at Real Madrid is opening the door to a January loan, but the clubs showing the clearest interest aren’t necessarily the ones most often linked with him. Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Tottenham are pursuing the Brazil international more concretely than Arsenal, according to the latest information. That distinction matters: a player can attract plenty of headlines without a club making a move that fits its immediate plans.

Endrick’s representatives have been sounding out potential destinations ahead of the winter window, as previously reported by the Daily Briefing. His playing time at Madrid is the pressure point. For a young forward, a spell on the sidelines can make a loan attractive if it offers a clearer route to regular football; it can also complicate a club’s plans if the parent team still sees the player as part of its future.

Madrid, however, has no current appetite to let him leave. Jose Mourinho, Florentino Perez and Endrick’s teammates are said to support him, a sign that the internal view may be more patient than the public discussion around his minutes. That support doesn’t guarantee a role, though. Endrick still needs opportunities on the pitch, and Madrid has to weigh his development against the demands of its own squad.

Last season, Madrid addressed that tension with a loan to Lyon for the second half of the campaign. The precedent gives the current speculation some shape: a temporary move is conceivable, even if it isn’t the club’s preferred outcome at this stage. Interest is building again as January approaches.

Where Endrick could go

Arsenal has a history of interest in Endrick, including reported attention in April, and there may have been more recent contact. But contact isn’t the same as a serious pursuit. This looks primarily like an agent-led opportunity: Arsenal isn’t actively treating him as a priority, and Madrid isn’t keen to sell or loan him out.

The loan terms help distinguish the contenders. Newcastle, Villa and Tottenham would consider a straight loan with no purchase option. That structure would return Endrick to Madrid at the end of the spell, leaving the club with control over his longer-term future while giving the player a chance to play elsewhere.

Earlier discussions involving Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool were based on loan-to-buy arrangements. Those proposals would connect a temporary move to a possible permanent transfer, making them a different kind of proposition for Madrid. The distinction is more significant than it looks: a club deciding whether to lend a young player may care as much about the terms of his return as about the immediate destination.

Nothing is advancing yet, and the picture could shift before the window opens. A move to one of the three Premier League clubs looks plausible if Madrid becomes willing to sanction a temporary exit. There’s also interest from Serie A, which widens the field but doesn’t establish that a deal is close.

Arsenal’s search may point elsewhere

My read is that Arsenal is unlikely to take its interest in Endrick further. The club has recently been cautious with opportunities driven by agents, turning down Malick Fofana when he was offered late in the summer. That precedent doesn’t settle Arsenal’s view of Endrick, but it does suggest the club isn’t inclined to pursue every available young forward simply because an intermediary raises the possibility.

Arsenal’s forward plans could instead hinge on Viktor Gyokeres, who has become unsettled and is attracting interest after slipping down the pecking order this season. If he leaves, the club may need a replacement, as earlier reporting has suggested. The sequence matters: Arsenal’s next move in attack could depend first on whether its current options change, rather than on whether Endrick becomes available.

Eli Junior Kroupi remains a player Arsenal likes and is expected to monitor, though Alex Scott’s likely Bournemouth departure in January makes a winter deal for Kroupi less likely, according to the report. That link points to another complication in the market: a club’s transfer plans can depend on changes elsewhere, even when those changes involve a different player.

Can Uzun is another young forward admired by the Gunners and a name worth watching, even if he’s less prominent in the current discussion. Arsenal therefore appears to have several possibilities under consideration, with Endrick sitting outside the clearest line of action for now.

What the January picture could mean

The January picture will depend on Madrid’s willingness to let Endrick go and on Arsenal’s needs in attack. If you’re following the market, the key signal isn’t simply which clubs are linked with him; it’s whether Madrid changes its position and which loan structure it’s prepared to accept. Until then, reported interest remains just that.

And yet. A straight loan to Newcastle, Villa or Tottenham would give Endrick a route to another club while preserving Madrid’s control over his return. For the three interested sides, the appeal would depend on whether they can offer a useful role; the available information doesn’t establish what minutes any of them could promise.

Here’s the thing: Arsenal’s presence in the conversation may say more about the network of contacts around a high-profile young player than about a transfer plan taking shape. Its attention appears to be moving toward other options, while the stronger signals point toward Newcastle, Villa and Tottenham.

One open question.
