Neto’s second-half double secured Chelsea a rare clean sheet and a hard-fought win, while Joao Pedro missed a key chance.

Pedro Neto’s Brace Leads Chelsea to 2-0 Win Over Everton

Pedro Neto turned a disciplined Chelsea display into a decisive 2-0 win at Everton, scoring twice after the break and earning a perfect 10/10 rating. The victory at Hill Dickinson Stadium also brought Chelsea their first clean sheet in more than 20 Premier League games, giving the result weight beyond the three points.

Joao Pedro had a contrasting afternoon. He held the ball up at times but missed a promising chance on a three-on-one counter and rarely threatened otherwise, receiving 5/10. Here are The Chelsea Chronicle’s ratings from Chelsea’s strongest result of the 2026/27 season so far.

Chelsea player ratings vs Everton

Pedro Neto – 10/10

Pedro Neto made his wing-back role count at both ends, working hard and sending dangerous balls into the area before finishing twice with composure. His brace settled the contest and capped a performance that makes his turnaround at Chelsea hard to miss. Man of the Match.

Jorrel Hato – 8/10

Starting at left wing-back in place of the injured Pep Chavarria, Hato showed his attacking value immediately after halftime. He surged forward and supplied the assist for Neto’s opener, despite being more naturally suited to a defensive role.

Morgan Rogers – 8/10

Morgan Rogers was quiet in attack until he held possession under pressure and released Hato for the move that opened the scoring. His edge showed elsewhere too: he was booked for winding up James Tarkowski and made a forceful challenge on James Garner.

Emiliano Martinez – 7/10

Emiliano Martinez made several solid saves and looked composed for most of the match. He did give away a corner by holding the ball too long, then had to leave in the second half after a heavy collision with Jarrad Branthwaite.

Josh Acheampong – 7/10

Josh Acheampong is growing into his starting role on the right of Chelsea’s back three. Jack Grealish still posed problems from Everton’s left, but Acheampong competed well. A needless first-half yellow card was the blemish.

Maxence Lacroix – 7/10

At the centre of the defence, Lacroix brought size, strength and leadership to a backline that held firm against Everton. His contribution helped Chelsea protect the clean sheet they had been waiting more than 20 league matches to record.

Levi Colwill – 7/10

Levi Colwill handed the captain’s armband to Moises Caicedo after leading Chelsea against Bournemouth. Everton offered little threat down Colwill’s side, but he played his part in a composed defensive effort.

Jordan Henderson – 7/10

After scoring twice and assisting against Bournemouth, Henderson took a quieter role here. He gave Caicedo a dependable midfield partner, worked hard without the ball and kept Chelsea’s possession moving.

Moises Caicedo – 7/10

Moises Caicedo set the tone with his pressing and helped Chelsea resist Everton’s attempts to break through. He also carried the ball forward confidently. His volley from Henderson’s corner struck the crossbar and was one of the match’s best chances.

Cole Palmer – 6/10

Palmer began brightly, then had less influence as the first half wore on. His run into the box helped create space for Neto’s goal, and he produced a few neat touches after halftime, though he never became a consistent threat.

Joao Pedro – 5/10

Joao Pedro linked play effectively on a handful of occasions, but his missed opportunity on a three-on-one break defined a frustrating outing. He offered little danger in front of goal after that, making this his least convincing performance of the season so far.

Substitutes

Mike Penders – 7/10

Danny Welbeck – N/A

Marco Palestra – N/A

Romeo Lavia – N/A

Geovany Quenda – N/A

Neto supplied the finishing, but Chelsea’s defensive resilience made the win possible. If that balance holds, this clean sheet could become a useful marker for how Alonso’s side builds from here.
